If, like me, you’ve ever bought an item of clothing in a charity shop you’ll have wondered about its provenance. Who did it belong to? What were they like? When did they last wear it?

In this novel we follow the progress of a gorgeous handmade dress through five different owners, and see how their lives are changed by possession of something uniquely beautiful. Writing their stories – comic, tragic, downright bizarre - was a wonderful opportunity to explore a group of richly diverse characters. Pure enjoyment!
